Tend to get a lot of people bonking around there, couple that with the lack of crowd support and it looks a bit worse than it is....

Absolutely echo this re volunteering - if you haven’t done it before, it’s a great way of experiencing the event. I’ve done it loads of times at various events and always really enjoy it (if my bloody foot doesn’t get better it’s the only marathon involvement I’m going to have going forward :lolol:)

Quite a bit down this year on 2015 onwards, and generally steadily falling…….combination of bad press, cost and competition really.

Better runners are getting paid to enter some events these days.....Brighton appears to be a bit financially up shit creek so unlikely to be doing that. Heard a lot of criticism of the organisation this year - drop bag setup, lack of tee shirts etc. Add that to the incorrect distance previously...
