He is a very good political journalist, probably one of the best (if not the best) political interviewers. I really miss This Week. It takes act of genius to make a programme work with Michael Portillo on one side and Diane Abbott on the other as regular guests.

But it's not a 24 hour news channel in the usual sense. I presume they pay a fee for a news feed coming in provided by a new agency. They aren't running news bulletins they are mainly just commenting on the news and having a few guest based chat shows. Andrew Neil will do a big interview every...

Again (sorry) that's not their plan. It's more based on Fox Nation in the states, where they will fund the station with an associated paid website with exclusive content etc... They don't have much of a plan to be a new channel like the others, more a case of commentating on it with personalities.

Clearly, but if the gallery can't monitor the audio properly who knows ? It's clearly a combination of a number of things that worked on paper with a cheap production budget. Titling typos are very common though and happen on all live stations.

I'd imagine it's based more on software than hardware. Things do go wrong. It's arguably quite a difficult time to launch a new station. You will have pressure to go with new (cheaper) technology, whilst existing broadcasters have older but proven technology that they know where to kick when it...

    GBNews: anyone watching?

It's their business plan. That's correct, it's a comment and opinion channel. No they wouldn't. GBNews is clearly NOT a rolling 24 hour news operation. They repeat content on a loop, there is nothing live after midnight. Production could come out of the same studio and they would pool...

There are obviously a variety of conspiracy theories but really long term the investors would like a return on their money. Arguably those investors abroad wouldn't be experts on how the UK audience would react to the content. They have cocked up editorially and have cocked up technically...

They will never make money in the UK, but their business model is based upon rolling the idea across a number of countries based on a proof of concept UK launch. I'll let you decide how that is going so far. I'm completely bemused. It just needed the removal of certain presenters particularly...

    GBNews: anyone watching?

I think if you are reading it (at somewhere like the BBC) you do have a say but the final choice will be that of the editor, but I know **** all about the news really. What I did read was that the BBC is actually bringing it's varied news departments together as a single entity. Historically...

    GBNews: anyone watching?

Channel Four has a public service remit to be distinct from other broadcasters and that extends to the news. It may well come across as Guardian-esque, but to me it comes across as more "left field" than "left wing" and that (whether anyone disagrees with it or not) was why it was set up by a...

    GBNews: anyone watching?

I'm not seeing a platform of hate and division at the moment, mainly the right of centre arguing with itself. Currently watching the National Union Of Famers criticising the trade deal with Australia. The channel actually works quite well when it does that, but then again Andrew Neil is...

Because if you had read the entire statement he explained how they weren't responsible for choosing the channels they advertise on a network like Sky. However after seeing the content they have decided to pause their advertising for now. He has merely quoted a policy and hasn't made a moral...

Which completely disregards silly little things like Broadcast Licences, Ofcom and fines. They could of course move just to the internet. They set themselves up to test where the boundaries were, unfortunately they've got a bit pissed and fell over them.

But they wouldn't have done. They get others to place their adverts across the networks, it's a specialist job where changes can be made last minute. The company employed would look at the demographics, the viewing figures etc.. In exceptional circumstances a brand may not wished to be...

Not sure it particularly touches them financially at the moment. I'd imagine the investors are more likely to request a management change first.
