It wasn't tax but a Lottery grant that allowed the FA to buy he OLD stadium off a private company. Wembley had always been in private hands. Its not a "National Asset" by anyone's definition . Do think it would be a good use of tax payers money to put the stadium into public ownership ...

The FA didn't own the old Wembley did they ? They used a Lottery Grant to buy it for 120 million to redevelop so it is hardly the family silver. I am far from impressed by the new place and isn't something I particular care about. If they sell (which is probably a good idea) they should pay...
