You are absolutely right and its only the ballache of accounting for everything that is stopping me. That said I need to do it for my annual accounts/returns so would be good discipline. Would prefer to deregister but I cant.

Christ he killed any incentive for anyone with low costs to stay on flat rate at last year's Autumn statement, so anything more and it would be effectively extra income tax!!

The title says quarterly tax RETURNS. Yes that is a very bad thing spending loads of time focusing on that rather than earning more tax for HMRC.
