Not sure how the BBC can get the blame for a show they no longer make or for a show the Football League no longer wanted them to make but fair enough. Anyway The BBC did bid for the Football League rights again but the FL decided they preferred the bid from C5 .

They did. The BBC put in a bid which they say was competitive. But the Football League wanted more money and a different show so went with someone else.

PS: The BBC did not "drop" the Football League Show. They were either outbid or could no longer afford the rights to the programme demanded by the Football League. The licence fee has been frozen since 2010 and the BBC has to pay for extra services like the World Service, rural broadband and...
