Was there actually ever any truth that he could have gone to a German club this summer? Or was a contract extension always the plan? The ''we want you to stay'' chants at the end of last season made it seem like he could have been off.

Absolutely class start to the season for him. There were points last year where I wondered if we needed an upgrade on him, but so glad that he's stayed. Happy to be proven wrong.

Earlier in the season I was of the view that Gross has been a very decent player for us but maybe his best years are behind him, and we should look for an upgrade. But through the season not only has he shown us some great moments of quality, culminating with the United and West Ham goals, but...

Really strong finish to the season for Pascal. Well done him.

Love what Pascal has done for the club, but with his contract up I had seen it as an obvious area of the squad we could upgrade.
