Yo all
So I'm 44 and just got my text through
Says my nearest centre is Horsham. i'm in BN1, so clearly don't want to head out there. If I leave it a few days i'm guessing somewhere local will come available?
Just a bit wierd that I can't book it for next week or something?
What do you...
That's what I don't get. Surely the point of a vaccine is that you don't get the illness in the first place. If you don't have it, how can you pass it on?
Question.
Excuse my ignorance.
So I keep hearing that we don't yet know if the vaccine will prevent transmission.
I'm guessing this is only referring to the ones who get the vaccine but it doesn't work for (the 5% if it's a 95% efficacious vaccine). The 95% are irrelevant for transmission...
Thanks Poojah.
I totally agree that vaccine take up is likely to be very good. Well above the figure I quoted of adults will want it and peer pressure might play a part amongst the young. (It will help further if the government gets it's messaging right).
The bit I'm still not clear on is...
So is this train of thought right? Feel free to put me right anywhere
In a post vaccine and lockdown world …..
Likely vaccine take up about 70% of population
Minus about 20% of population who are kids and won’t get it, (but may be less likely to transmit asymptomatically)
10%ish will have...
Not a scientist mate, but I know enough to say that the risk of deformity is going to be zero. Your good looks are safe. Other things, I don't know, lung damage, may be 1 or 10,000 or something. This vaccine won't be some steaming, brightly coloured, nuclear substance which can make you grow...
Well put.
Re your daughter. I think that when the vaccine is approved a lot of people who have decided not to have to will think long and hard, (because there will be wall to wall coverage, billboards etc. It will be all people talk about and totally inescapable) and will think differently...
On the symptom check list there might be "suddenly developed a baffling sense of superiority" and "become utterly divorced from reality" Best of luck Diffbrook. See you on the other side my friend
Personally I love sitting inside all day, not being able to see friends and work colleagues, all the time watching my kids prospects diminish, my fathers brain wither away due to lack of contact and stimulation, and seeing the national debt increase prodigiously. No way i'll take a vaccine...
