If we wrap it up in the next 10 overs I would be very tempted to bowl again as our first innings lead will be 250+ plus we would have two bites of the cherry with the new ball. Anything above 10 overs I would bat again.
That's an amazing statistic, I just looked up he stats during those 13 matches. Average of 40 with the bat and 25 with the ball, whilst his figures have worsened, I still feel he could play a role in this England side.
I think his a hugely underrated cricketer. A real handful if it is swinging and a superb number 8 batsman. Plus England's win ratio is fantastic when he plays, I think he was involved in something like 8 consecutive wins from his debut.
Good we have some able back up in Bresnan, Stokes & Plunkett in the bowling all-rounder category. Plus Onions and Finn as out and out bowlers could come into the reckoning to support Anderson & Broad.
Agreed, you rarely see Anderson steam through the opposition he generally chips in with 2's and 3' and the odd five for. I think this wicket will turn so Ali if he bowls well could equally be a match winner.
Could be an interesting days play, I'm particularly interested in how Dhoni goes about his captaincy tomorrow. My guess he attacks early hoping the newish ball makes in roads and if England get through the first twenty overs of the day he will go right on the defensive. We saw it today with 7/2...
Platform laid for our stroke makers and biffers to get us up to 500 an hour before close. Couldn't be set up better for Butler on debut to smash the bowlers on debut.
It can't all be bish bash wallop, good to see two of our batters value their wicket and give the Indian's nothing. Bat for a day and two sessions and pressurise the opposition.
