    the associations hardly have any choice, UEFA rams through the changes or you cant compete in their tournament, etc. they are no better. there was a non-meh reaction when first raised last year, its going to feck up the domestic schedules to squeeze in the extra games.

    except their factories, companies and indeed football clubs are privately owned. Wolfsburg owned by VW, Liebzig by Redball, Bayer L by Bayer (the pharmacy people), Bayer M by Adidas and Allianz and a PLC... probably not quite the model you have in mind of socialism or football ownership.

    i wonder if something along lines of Chelsea Pitch Owners is the model, with the ground or club title owned by a fan led trust. would leave the corporate side to run 99% of things, but final say on the core club impacting decisions.

    easy for a new company, not so for established one. for a start the value of the shares could be in their voting power, so you effect the value by any change. its possible but the existing holders would have to agree. league could set a rule for ownership change, then have balls to follow...
