so you're saying it is working time then? therefore its time that can be set aside for teacher training. like asking a salesman to meet clients, except 2nd Monday of every quarter when they'll come in to the office instead.

i think you are missing the part of the argument from teachers that they work during the academic holiday periods, therefore its not holiday really. so why cant they do inset training then? because you're right it is actually their holiday, of which they get 12-13 weeks.

i dont know why people seem to think this is due to travel companies fleecing the public, the entire industry across Europe relies on a couple of months to make a living. every country takes off on holiday in July and August, staggering holidays here isnt going to reduce demand in Med resorts...
