If we were more prepared I wouldn't be so negative but it's hard to be positive based on our transfer dealings so far. Hopefully I'll be eating a large dose of humble pie before 1 Sept.
I can't help thinking that both clubs have shown, so far at least, a greater appreciation of what is necessary to survive in the Premier League than we have.
Unless we sign 3-4 quality players, ideally before the new season starts, I seriously believe we could end up with the lowest ever total of points in the Premier League. Please let's not run the risk of this and strive to get our transfer business finished soon.
Maybe. But I'd wager that most of the good quality players will be signed up before the new campaign starts. As for us being ripped off, I don't think there's much chance of that at the moment as we're not spending anything.
Ok. But wouldn't it make a lot more sense to have all our ducks in a row before the new season starts? If we don't have a full strength squad until 1 Sept we're arguably making life more difficult for ourselves in the three games in August. This is hardly a good basis to start the new season.
Quite happy with the Albion, thanks. Just want to see some significant investment in our team before the season starts. At least let's make a good fist of trying to stay up. I know that signing expensive players doesn't necessarily guarantee success on the pitch but I'm certain it would give you...
No. Certainly not. But we do lack the necessary quality in certain areas to survive in the Premier League....at the moment. No doubt the club will be addressing this in the next 2-3 weeks.
It's been 3 months since we achieved promotion and it's been obvious since then that we need a top quality striker. How much longer do we need? We can't say we don't have the money now.
I fear you're probably right. Unless we seriously strengthen the squad over the next 2-3 weeks we are going to regret it. That squad would struggle to make the top 6 in the championship let alone stay in the Premier League. We are just not strong enough.
