I would rather have a striker or two even if it meant plenty of egg on face but it now looks as if we're not going to strengthen our forward line further, which is desperately disappointing given the club's record in this area. I wonder what the club's Plan B is to fill the gap until January, or...
You may be right. I really can't believe we'd be daft enough to try to make do with just three strikers. We should have made a bid of £8M for Vydra when the Pritchard option fell through. Arguably we would have got a better player as well.
I can't fathom out why we're so poor at identifying and buying strikers. It's so frustrating. My interest in the rest of the season has now dissipated somewhat as we're going to find it very, very difficult to compete with the big boys. Maybe we're still an average Championship side after all?
So no more strikers then? Absolutely pathetic if true. What the hell do we do now if some/all of our strike-force gets injured/suspended? It's going to be a season of mid-table mediocrity I feel. What happened to ambition this season?
Not at all but our record at signing first team strikers is not particularly inspiring. And btw, I think we need two strikers not one to be competitive with the big boys this year.
I saw that, of course, but we've heard such claims before especially at this time of the year and when it comes to signing strikers. Let's see what the next two days brings.
Agreed. We were very much second best in that game and the Toon had their two first team strikers out. I shudder to think what the score might have been had we played a full strength side.
That said, we've still got two days left to sign that quality striker.....here's hoping.
Looks as if the club is getting its excuses in early..... We are going to struggle to make the play-offs this year unless we sign at least one and ideally two good quality strikers before the window shuts tomorrow. Let's hope the club has something up its sleeve. It's not as if we haven't had...
