That's not the issue!
To my mind, it's fine if any Albion player wants to leave for "better things" and/or more money. It doesn't suddently make them a bad player/person, or sully their Albion reputation.
But, come one, if it doesn't work out at the new club/s, it's a bit rich for a player to...
Brovian says Bridcutt and Minton were both "class players" (in their eras) who peaked at the Albion and "discovered the grass wasn't necessarily greener elsewhere".
What's wrong with that?
Neither were Rodney Thomas, let's face it....
Except this is not about Albion fans mocking or trashing a (fine) former player.
It's an former Albion player trying to convince us that he didn't want to leave, after realising he never had it so good - and never will.
He's trying to rewrite history, not us.
Hmmm.... whether you 'believe' him or not, you have to recognise that there are two sides to the story, especially as some of his claims go against evidence from the time.
I haven't heard all of the interview. Did you ask if he regrets any of his actions/decisions? I'll have a proper listen later.
"Former Albion midfielder Liam Bridcutt admits he never wanted to leave the club" - Argus.
"Liam Bridcutt reveals he never wanted to leave Brighton", above.
I think the correct word here would be "claims".
