Great study. Are you an academic?
Take a read of this:https://www.researchgate.net/profile/David_Savage/publication/46475452_The_Red_Mist_Red_Shirts_Aggression_and_Team_Sports/links/56e8fd6c08ae166360e53a77/The-Red-Mist-Red-Shirts-Aggression-and-Team-Sports.pdf
Personally, I'd take any minor...
Bit harsh, that.
Any third kit is guaranteed an airing each season for "commercial reasons". Reckon Albion wear the third kit in December more than any other month.
And loads of studies have shown that wearing red gives an advantage in sport (not just football, but in Olympics etc).
Based on past few years, it will become our third shirt choice for the season.
I'd rather the club cut its losses, and sold it off cheap in next few months. Then introduce a modern 2nd kit (for the kids) and a classic 3rd kit (for the old school).
The Premier League has specific rules around clashes. It announces colours a day or two before fixtures, presumably after each ref has checked.
Rules on when clubs are 'allowed' to use 2nd and 3rd kits have been relaxed, which confuses many.
The FA has zero input. Premier League is independent.
