@Harry Wilson's tackle is always good on these things too.
The faux halcyon days of Brighton. In the 70's and 80's West Street was violent, the German student murdered, the fountains were turned off, gay-bashing, run down half empty shops eg Courts on the seafront, WW2 wasteland eg now Jubilee...
I was in the city centre tonight, helping my son collect his bike.
Thousands of young folk packing out pubs and restaurants, in proper summer weather. Happy faces.
What’s not to like?
It that part n parcel of any UK urban area these days? Even Lancing, Eastbourne and Worthing have emboldened teenage thugs shoplifting at will en masse, attacking security guards, stabbing innocents.
The problems are eastbound into Brighton, from Hove.
My parents live your side in ‘The Deans’ and are completely unaffected by the Royal Albion traffic carnage when visiting the city centre.
Got caught in that on Monday about 5pm. In essence all A259 eastbound traffic is being forced up West Street, subject to the traffic lights there etc. 5 minute journeys might be taking hours, it’s car park.
I turned round opposite The Grand and made our way home via Hove.
