    We sat in ESL for a couple of matches about 3 years ago, where a vociferous group detested Hemed with a passion. Apparently he was fat and a shit striker. Ironically, he then scored a vital goal or two in one of the matches. The knobs shut the feck up.

    I don’t see Bong as an exceptional PL full back with barely a fault in his game (who is?), but I’m genuinely surprised at the animosity towards him. It seems unfair and quite spiteful. Fuelled at matches by ********s on the beers, possibly.

    Abusers able to hide in a larger crowd? At Withdean when we openly moaned about Hoyte, it stood out like a sore thumb, so it was tempered.

    I’m happy that the club stays completely out of party politics and the EU debate. Sport is a welcome respite from the relentless drip-drip-drip of political coverage. With the club/police dealing with individual racists, homophobes, anti-Semites, as and when.

    Or more recently Hoyte and Graeme Smith. Some Amex newbies are so used to watching wall to wall CL/PL top 6 football, they have silly expectations of Albion players.
