Spare a thought for those on their 7th pint, who’ve effectively been conned out of a pint.
Plus they tend to be altruistic individuals, only comsuming vast quantities of pints and pies to boost the transfer budget.
I thought no one would admit it, but after the St Patricks Day win, quite a few admitting missing all goals due an extended concourse visit.
Amazing, the obsession with downing pint after pint from plastic beakers.
I spent several seasons in WSU and you’re spot on. Plus the concourse gets natural light.
Other packed, narrow concrete dungeons are the away concourses at Molyneux and Notts County.
Have you ever tried Dick’s Bar pre match? I haven’t, I assume that all the seats are taken very early on. Yesterday I saw fans approaching the Amex 3 and half hours before kickoff.
Elsewhere, stadium food is crap. Bone dry ‘hotdogs’ at Molyneux and Anfield for example, served in a stale roll. Or the astonishing ripoff at Wembley and the Emirates.
Brighton fans really do have it good with concourse catering.
I was a kid and used to buy the hotdogs or burgers (the boiled cheap American type that came in giant catering tins). I lived to tell the tale, but my brain’s gone to pot early as a result ... how are you @RuislipAmex?).
The casual / part time staff will never have the speed of experienced bar staff, all so slow. With the hundreds needed each match, I can’t a viable alternative.
