I just find him pretty dull, for me it’s the same with Shearer, Scholes, Dixon, Giggs and Hoddle. Plus you never learn any insights, funny stories or get a controversial standpoint with that lot.

Fair points. I listen all the time and he still does exactly what you describe.
But for some reason I like him. He laughs at his past quirks, he’s honest without being spiteful.
On 5live he’s always joked about he and the Albion players spent that period nightclubbing and other unmentionables regarding ‘playing away’. He has fond memories of his time in Brighton for boozing and other activities.
