£85 season tickets at the Amex just a year ago! That's the sort of move that hooks Sussex kids into being Albion fans for life. I suppose with the new Sky/BT income, we can't afford to do that any more. Shame.

It's going to an amazing day, with a shock win for the Albion come final whistle. Who needs £100m's to build a squad? Happy days.

Not surprised, a brilliant team being assembled. Even if they win handsomely, I'm sure even the home fans will appreciate the fantastic talents and their play. Amazing that the Albion are now part of the PL.

And might lead to flash points. If a few sporadic away supporters celebrate goals during the season, some home fans might take exception to that. It's not right, but it does go on in football. Has anyone challenged / communicated this unfairness to the club?

True. My idea was to credit them back some cash (not a shop voucher) if they let the club know it's going to be a no-show and it gets re-sold. Just the five others a chance if we do get sell outs.

It wouldn't affect me, but I wonder if they credited s/t holders debit/credit card with say £15 if their seat resells, would be a means to get more no-shows to let the club know, give more fans a chance and improve true attendances?

Agreed. Is there any financial incentive for a no show s/t holder to give notice to the club?

I suppose it was plum in the middle of holiday season in those (good old) days, then after that result, many thousands couldn't stomach the irregular results, following three plus years of mainly home wins under Taylor then Mullery.

I know you're always correct (not said with sarcasm!). It's surprising that well over 30,000 was achieved a few times from 1976 to May 1979 (I was there every time), but 30,000 never happened again in the top flight.

Capacity was reduced in summer 1979 due to the construction of the Lego stand and possibly yet another safety at grounds purge by the authorities.
