That's what happens when a company appoints Paul Pindar as CEO. At Capita, which should be profitable given all it's government contracts, he drove redundancies through the roof and profits through the floor. How he ever got another job is beyond me.
You may well be correct with the mouse - although Microsoft introduced it with Windows 3.0 in the early 90s so it might have been a close run thing ( Apple didn't invent the mouse though ). I thought USB ports were first introduced by Compaq under a relationship with Intel ?

All through my career there's been challenges getting Apple products to connect to industry standard systems - Novell, Windows, Linux, VAX VMX, Unix - you name it, it's always Apple products that create the issues.
In the modern day - Apple are the only manufacturer...
