I understand the way multinationals operate (I've worked for a few and been involved in profit/loss and tax obligations for them), I just wondered why Beach Hut was defending them taking on their obligations, morally or legally. (I believe now that he wasn't defending, simply observing).
But this whole conversation started because when i asked why they shouldn't pay tax, you said that we have to look at the bigger picture and they employ people who pay tax.
In what way does this justify them not paying the tax they are liable for ?
Always stuns me how the first to rush to defend these, at best immoral and, at worst illegal activities, are always people who are quite happy to pay their full tax obligations, often under PAYE ???
