Froome won on a flat finish after a long downhill descent. The Tourmalet was made a side note.

Froome won on the flat and a TT. Bardet only rider to win a GC mountain stage.

Hopefully they bring in a salary cap. Having all these riders who could make racing more exciting riding as domestiques is bad for the event.

Better to go down fighting than sitting back doing nothing. Meintjes as an example was only 2 minutes behind Yates, he also was far enough time wise behind Froome he could have made an attack to try for the white. Did nothing. Valverde could have had a crack at leaping Porte. They get paid...

Look at all the GC riders coming in together. Waiting for the last 500 metres to put in a sprint. Gutless.

Another yawn of a stage over.

Truth. GC is woeful. GC riders love to put their teams in the way of the sprint teams to "keep their riders safe" yet when they get to the GC stages their riders don't do shit. Bardet win only GC win on a GC stage that's not a TT.

And that there is why the event is a shower of shit now. Last GC day, last mountain and it's a bunch of non GC riders going to fill the top 10 positions. Only one stage has been won by a GC rider on the GC stages this year. That's a poor advert for the Tour.

C'mon Kreuziger, push all these arse clowns off the podium.

Massive break away group. If this stage isn't won by the GC riders I'm done with the TdF. No point staying up late for borefests.

BMC have better classics riders than Sky so they are more prominent in the early season races. Katusha have been infighting between the GC and sprint teams. Moviestar can't compete team wise if those figures are right. Sky's money allows them to have riders who could be GC contenders on other...

    Too even the field, bring in a salary cap. Tour de France team budgets (estimated) Team Sky – €35m Katusha – €32m BMC – €28m Tinkoff – €25m Astana – €20m Etixx-Quick Step – €18m Movistar – €15m Lotto-Soudal – €14m LottoNL-Jumbo – €14m Dimension Data – €13.5m Orica-BikeExchange – €13m...

He'd say that because his squad is infighting. Kristoff said so openly yesterday. Team Kristoff v Team JR

They have to neutralise it or Froome is in deep crap for moving up the course without his bike.

European cycling fans need to stop being such ****ing idiots. They are a big part of the problems in the mountains.

They will have to neutralise that last few kms. Like they did with Yates who lost time when the arch fell on his head.
