How do you know that threatening to leave Sky doesn't always result in getting a good deal to stay?

I cancelled a couple of weeks ago, and then got a decent offer to stay. So it works for a lot of people. If they hadn't have given a good enough offer, I would have left. Er, you're talking about Virign Media TV, but this thread (and the post you quoted) is about Sky.
