Our biggest rival for top two is still Newcastle and one other. The question is, who is that other?
Obviously if we keep going as we have then we'll get 100 points and other teams won't matter, but it's possible we could have some injuries, have some poor refereeing decisions go against us, play below par etc, and finish with say 88 points. That might be enough, it might not. So which opposing...
On the back of tonight's performance they've suddenly dropped to 10/1 for a top two place.
No chance. Our players would have to be stupid to be complacent. We lost much easier games last year, and if it needed to be cleare, we've never, ever won 3 points at Preston.
Leeds were good just now, but we're all (well most of us) so easily suckered in by watching one performance. We saw Villa play well, so we thought they'd be on a charge. We say Fullham play well (first game), so feared them. We hadn't seen Reading play much, so they've come top of the poll, but...
No, they were already able to, based on the fact that anyone can beat anyone in this division on their day. I expect they are now considered more likely to, although they will still be the underdog.
People have mentioned that only us hitting problems can stop us, and that gets more and more true as the games go by. None of the teams looks like that big a threat now, the biggest danger I guess is the threat of injuries.
Given that the transfer window has just opened, we now have the chance...
