Fair yes, but would it have been correct? He did deny Baldock a goal-scoring opportunity, he would not have kept up with Sam who would have been 1 v 1.
Yep, but I'm not sure it wasn't a foul.
If it was given as a foul elsewhere on the pitch, we wouldn't think it was harsh. Because he's then got to send the player off, it's suddenly looking pretty harsh. Harsh because of the laws of the game, not because the decision was bad.
Not quite true. One of the pundits said it could have just been a yellow.
When I first saw it, I thought:
"Sam's going to be away here and not caught - Onuoha had barged into Sam and knocked him down"
Seeing the replays I'm not sure sure of the second part, it does look a bit more 50/50, but...
The nature of true, dyed in the wool football support is that your love for your team is unconditional. You'll keep coming back, week in week out, regardless of what you are served up. My God, we've done just that over the years. But when those good times come around they are so much the sweeter...
That's the thing - I'm with everyone else and think it was really harsh, but I've forgot what the rule is. I think it was a foul, just. Is the ref supposed to give a free-kick for a foul, or does he have to give a red as it denied a goal scoring opportunity?
We've got away with one today, but we should never have been in that position. To make sure this doesn't happen again, we should have his landline, mobile and address, in case we have to rouse him.
