I wondered that before posting, but checked and thought the higher limits don't apply next season:

So you wouldn't sell him then? Because there's nothing to suggest we're about to get another striker worth £10m on the cheap. No one is saying he's as good as an Ulloa, we're simply saying that he's better than anyone else we have, and we can't let him go. On recent evidence I'd suggest he's...
Maybe he'll go, maybe he'll stay, but I'd suggest that anyone saying his departure is a done deal is talking shite, given the Hughton is still hoping Chris will stay.
Thank you for your concern, but I'm not struggling. If I thought that the posts on here made no difference then I wouldn't care, but I do think they make a difference. If a lot of people on here slag a player off, that easily ends up at the stadium and effects how the player feels. O'Grady only...
How much game time did he get under Sami? Was it enough for people to be so sure he was shit?
I think it's better to support a player and turn out to be wrong about them, than to slag one off and turn out to be wrong. Our players deserve our support unless they're not making the effort.
There are plenty of examples of top teams holding on to their players even when they want out, and they're normally proved right to do so. If the player wants out, they just need to keep playing well and their move will come.
Yes he's getting a run in the team, and the manager has showed faith...
It's not a new phenomenon for a player to want to leave and for a club to say no, you're needed here. At least 'no yet'.
Bollox to that, we need him now, for the rest of this season. His life with his family will be long, the next few months is nothing. Treat him well, get him in the team, and...
He was unsettled because the manager didn't want him. We now have a manager that does want him, and it's working. If he really wants to go, then playing for another 4 months before a move of his choice is not a lot to ask. He is under contract, and we'd be paying his wages if he was injured. But...
