Yes.
The thing is, every single country in the world was taken by force and one time or another (going back to nomads and tribes etc). But what's the right thing to do now? Should we have no rules, and let those with power take whatever they like? Or should the international community agree...
It may idealistic, but surely that's the ideal we should be fighting for. If not, then what's the point in ever discussing any rights to land, let's just all go to war and see who wins.
If it's not their land, it's not up to them.
Are we trying to colonise Iraq and Afganistan, and fill them with British and US people?
PS - I'm against Blair and Bush too, but I don't consider this the same.
When he speaks Russian, and our news translates it, then we know the translations are correct because plenty of people in the UK who speak Russian would be going crazy if it wasn't.
I don't think that, of course they would, have, and do. But some lie more than others. Speak to people who grew up in Czechoslovakia, Hungary etc, their history lessons were quite interesting.
What we do know is that Putin says that regardless of who shot it down, it's Ukraine's fault, as it was over their territory. That's a ****ed up view in my opinion.
 fair play.
To be honest, it wasn't much different to the usual NSC ramblings - the only real difference is that you've offered an explanation, rather than digging your heals in :)
It almost certainly was. Not the sort of accident you or I could have. Not a 'fell over' accident, but one that can happen when you're a trigger happy Russian (or Ukrainian) that's been given access to serious anti-air equipment.
It looks like the Russians thought it was a Ukrainian transport...
I'm 100% sure you're wrong. We do lie sometimes, but we are not as likely to lie as Putin, I know we're not.
It's possible it could happen, but 100% sure? Nonsense.
Well I agree with that.
