I just love the Solly post-match interviews or the occasional Football Focus thing. Always seems like he's more than a bit bemused by all the attention. Doesn't know quite what to say, bless him 🙂
Greatest transformation since McGhee, er, transformed Adam Virgo into a striker :lolol:
Any chance we can flog Solly to Chelsea? £130m should just about cover it
It was always all about the confidence with Solly. Pre-RDZ, his instinct was always to do absolutely anything other than take a shot on goal. What a difference now!
Not seen it mentioned anywhere but there was a moment early in the second half where he beat his man and played a beautifully weighted pass across the box. The slightest touch by one of ours would have led to a certain goal. Sadly there was nobody there to accept the gift
It's the absolute lack of conviction / confidence that Solly suffers from whenever he finds himself in a scoring position that always gets me. He just seems to freeze. Not sure that's ever going to change now
Seemed to me that on the occasion in question, Solly just lacked the confidence to fully commit himself to taking the scoring chance. Kept looking up for somebody - anybody! - to lay the ball off to. Keeper did well, but probably sensed the hesitancy on Solly's part
