You said Leicester got rid of him. There are press articles from the Leicester Mercury, Daily Mail, & others stating Knocky was offered a 4 year contract.
I'm not privy to private relationships between players & managers, but he was offered a contract which he turned down.

I'm more reliably informed Leicester offered him a 4 year contract which Knocky turned down to go to Belgium. His home in France was right on the Belgium border, his father was ill.

If you're on Instagram, look at some of the player stories. You will see them laughing in the gym & Knocky right in the thick of it. Your hunch is way out.
Why do you need to defend it? He is an emotional player, whichis part of his personality. He cares very much & Id rather have a player who wants to play, than a journeyman who couldn't give a flying fig.
Rumours going round that he 'steamed out' of the Amex in his car & went home.
I know someone who saw him outside of the club shop, & he was smiling, speaking to fans, so I'd take the 'steaming' with a chunk of salt.
