Catch a ref's heel accidentally, get accused of trying to trip him up, when the referee didn't even stumble or fall, get a seven game ban.

Not to mention Paul Winstanley and the recruitment team. No, it's all Paul Barber's fault, every bit of it.

Calde's red card when the Newport player broke his leg. Away from Brighton, two Newcastle players had their appeal upheld last season,

The extra game is added on if the FA consider it's frivolous, or a silly reason why it has been appealed. The club felt they had a good reason to appeal by stating it was accidental rather than deliberate. That was rejected, so the 3 match ban still applies, with nothing extra.
  6. Thunder Bolt

Hemed stamp [Charged, appealed, banned for 3 games]

Why? The appeal hasn't cost any more games, and the club has stood by their player. He was going to get a 3 match ban, in any case.

It depends on the tv coverage though, doesn't it?

The last two paragraphs of that article is how I feel. Similarly at Brighton the following day, all the focus after the whistle was on slow-motion replays of a wrongly disallowed Burnley goal while Joey Barton appears to have escaped after a stamp of his own. There is a sense that broadcasters...

We appealed three red cards (Stephens, Murphy and Murray) previously with no extra game bans. It's only if an appeal is deemed frivolous, that it is extended.

In Hemed's case the referee did nothing, so hopefully the appeal will be successful, as the referee must have been right to do nothing.

I know. I was commenting on your diving panel. It was meant to be a tongue in cheek comment.

Oh no! If they have Nigel Adkins on the panel, we've got no chance at all.

No, and we've appealed three red cards since then.

We appealed Murphy, Murray and Stephens which were turned down, but not increased.

The only decision we've had overturned was Calde's red, when the Newport player broke his leg.

Shelvey had a red card overturned, just last season.

He does, but if it fails, he could get a longer ban.

It seems that being charged, they already have reached a unanimous decision. I'm not surprised because Brighton never get the benefit of the doubt, in these cases, unlike Barton or Shelvey.

If he has already been found guilty, why are they still calling it an alleged act of violent conduct? Surely the statement would say, he has been charged with violent conduct?
