I disagree. It's asking for Cat 1 Academies to field 'B' teams in a competition which was meant to generate income for lower league teams. It's a slippery slope.

They wouldn't call it the Football Trophy if it had a sponsor. The sponsor's name would be on it eg. Piglets Pantry Trophy. They've been trying since March and nothing has happened yet. Form an orderly queue.

We played Orient in the proper League Cup, five or six years ago. They won. When did our U21s last win the Sussex Senior Cup?

It's the Johnson's Paint Trophy without a sponsor because the League can't get one. When we got promoted to the Championship, most of us were glad to leave it behind. The U21s, or U23s as they are now, have their own cup competition. Why deny the lower leagues their chance at Wembley?

I hope we turn it down. This is League 3 in disguise.
