Bewilder you.I think 'experts' in psychology might have some ideas and perhaps others that have more experience and knowledge than yourself.
Oh by the way, in case the penny hadn't dropped about good/evil being used by religion and spirituality.
Atheist philosophy tends to use the words...
I don't think so.
A sound mind realises that things change and we adapt. A diseased mind thinks that 'this/now' is all there ever will be.
Depression is not being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, it has a timeless quality.
Think about the word and where it comes from and what the implications of that are.
Evil is a word of spirituality (quite obviously).
And like most of the lexicon of spirituality, these words are used to explain things when there seems to be no explanation.
On a side note, it also stops any...
Errrm, couldn't the mental health thing make him 'evil'.
No, i'm not justifying his actions (don't be silly).
On a side note, i'm loving a generally atheist board turning to religious/spiritual words to explain the unexplainable.
Well said. It's just ignorance though, bless them, they don't know any better than to stigmatise. Which in turn makes things like this more likely.. ironic..
I completely agree with all 5 of your statements. I'd like to add that hopefully at some point in the future we'll be able to treat this kind of illness/disease.
