By the sounds of it they’ll be introducing air bridges late in the month - murmurs from Portugal that it’s been agreed. Most companies have suspended flights/holidays until the start of July anyway. Do I remember you saying you work for Virgin don’t you? Hope your job is safe fella.

TUI and other airline/carriers have rocketed since markets reopened yesterday morning, I don’t normally invest in markets but when I saw TUI share prices at 249 the other day compared to 900 before Coronavirus i very nearly bought my first shares :lolol: Then thought better if it as I have no...

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8352215/Spain-joins-backlash-strict-UK-quarantine-rules-says-wants-Brits-priority.html Spanish tourism chief raging at the new quarantine rules, who is behind this blanket quarantine idea? It seems the ministers and backbencher are against it, most of...

A surge in passengers before this measure is brought in I mean, ie’ thousands more flying in on the 7th June to avoid having to quarantine themselves. To me this just seems like a very strange time to bring this measure in, particularly as a ‘blanket’ method I’d understand for example...

Bizzare, they are bringing restrictions in on 8th June which will cause a surge in passengers before then and there’s talk of a reliable digital testing kit becoming available soon. Got to be honest I really did not understand Pritis wording of it, she sounded like there will be no exceptions...

It really makes no sense to blanket force 14 day quarantine does it? Surely you should be imposing this for certain areas/countries who are most rife with infection - for example if you’re coming from Greece right now that has only 2 new cases today, what on Earth is the point of quarantine it...

I did mean numbers wise, not size of airports, Abu Dhabi airport services around 24m people per year whilst Gatwick has 46 million and Heathrow 80 million. But I guess the problem is financially these tests are probably exceptionally expensive. The only realistic way anyone should be allowed to...

    Aviation industry and Covid-19

Surely the only true way around this is a reliable test that can be done in minutes - I read a while ago I think Qatar or Dubai had been blood testing people coming through the airport and getting results within minutes, obviously on LHR or Gatwick scale it’s pretty impossible to do that, but...

I’m not sure if I’m being thick, but how do any of these airlines make money? All I ever seem to see is airlines getting billions in loans, being bailed out and the lark surely once you are a billion pound in debt you should think alright maybe this isn’t working? :lolol:
