And it is assault. If someone walked up to you on a high street in broad daylight and threw water over you that is exactly what they would be arrested for.
It was infuriating. It's a cowardly thing to do but I didn't think much of it when I'd cleaned up and ordered another beer but what happened to the OP, although it turned out to be water, has an air of the sinister about it and I don't mind admitting it would have shaken me up a bit. Time of...
And yeah, I'd report that. I assume you are a bloke (?) and although infuriating, you can probably shrug it off. Imagine how scared a lone female or elderly person would feel in the same situation. Can't do any harm to make the police aware, eh.
What happened in the immediate aftermath? Did they stay and laugh, spin off..?
Edit. Just seen, he sped off.
What a tool. And rather upsetting I should think.
I have to say, I would never deliberately approach a car or van at night. I would rarely do it in the day. Especially along that stretch, which I imagine is pretty quiet past about 10pm?
It's a runny yoghurt drink. I was standing outside what used to be a bar on Dyke Rd at the Dials (then it became a Small Batch, dunno what it is now) when a car full of Rugby looking types drove past and threw said YOP all over me as they whizzed past.
I had a similar experience but it was a drive by pot of YOP. I felt genuinely humiliated.
These types will do it to the wrong person one night.
Yours sounds genuinely unsettling.
