I get you, that's fair enough.
Just remember that Tomori has been with Chelsea for 11 years and wasn't given a look-in for pre-season in the U.S.
And he's been sent out as 4th choice for a Championship team.
Again, I hope he proves me wrong, I'd love him to be great. But I can find no positives...
Fletcher had 8 years in possibly the best Football Academy in the world, working for possibly the best Manager in the world, before breaking into the first team.
How is this relevant to 8 weeks with Tomori?
Yes of course it's possible, Ferguson brought kids in that he knew or had scouted, trained them and put them in games.
Hughton picked one of the last balls out of the bargain bin and got this kid, who he's had a few weeks to work on.
No comparison.
Accompanied by this -> :lolol: - which surely...
Absolutely not, I've made my point but 2 other posters keep pressing, so I respond.
I don't rate the guy, other's do, good luck to him, bring on Saturday. That should be it, but then a response comes with a question, and on and on etc.
Yes, I've said this already.
I much prefer being at live games, without doubt.
But you see far more of the game on Sky, I know many hate to hear that, but it's just true.
Again, opinions are subjective, I thought he was poor, Sky commentators thought he was poor, and then mentioned that he had obviously improved in the...
I have absolute faith in CH, I think he's quality.
My argument is that a 19 year old with no experience, with his mates in Lancing, having a good time and playing with good confidence, can't be compared to playing in a game like tonight.
I am 110% positive that CH is not as stupid to think...
Yes but Duffy wasn't near as bad as Tomori, in my opinion.
Tomori genuinely looked like a deer in headlights for 75 minutes and gave the ball away more than he kept it.
With Duffy, I knew how good he was and knew he had moved here after a terrible couple of games.
Yes, but your point was that CH would have seen him in training, and thought he was good enough/ready to play in this one?
With no first team experience at Brighton or Chelsea, looking at someone playing fun games in Lancing (yes, plus some tough drills obviously), can't give you a real feel for...
You'll have to tell me what you're getting at, as I can't tell.
Tomori has had 2 shit games, he's got no experience and from what we've seen, it doesn't look promising, and I personally hope he doesn't have to fill in again this season.
Duffy had 2 shit games, we knew he was quality, but we...
You can't compare a training game where they play Mario Kart-themed drills in Lancing, to a heavyweight clash in the Championship against experienced Premier League players.
Ok, so let's say that you fit into one of two possibilities here.
1: You are in CH's inner circle (immediate family or extremely close friend), he'll be honest in his evaluation of Tomori. ("He was our only real option")
2: You have met/interviewed/bumped into/associate/acquaintances with CH...
Duffy had a patchy first couple of games here, on the back off a woeful run at his last club.
But we knew Duffy's history, ability and international experience.
Tomori has no first team experience, is a 19 year old kid from the U23's, and wasn't given a second on a pitch at last pre-season in...
What do you mean?
The OP asked for opinions, someone asked me to elaborate why I didn't rate him, so I did?
And yeah the other guy was just name calling anyone who he didn't agree with, so I asked him to elaborate as to why/how he rates him.
I don't geddit?
That's just a guess though.
Another...
I think we played alright, no real grievance from me with the performance, maybe odd substitutions but generally a decent game.
They had one very lucky goal, and one very good goal.
They got the luck tonight, we've had our fair share of it so far this season, so no issues there.
The OP asked...
That's a no then, you don't have the capacity to put up a reasoned argument as to how Tomori had a good game, in your opinion.
And again, Tomori is able to play across the back positions - he was not out of position.
I'm near Calgary, Tomori's birthplace. So no, I didn't cross continents tonight.
Agree with that.
He was way out of his depth against very experienced players. He has (almost) no experience of first team games.
He was better in the second half, but that doesn't make his second half performance good. He still gave the ball away more than he retained possession, and was still...
I've seen a few of your comments on this thread, just name calling people who you don't agree with.
If you have a point to make, why not elaborate and tell us why you think he's decent?
And from everything I've read and heard about Tomori, he's a player that is happy anywhere on the back line.
