Well, its all anecdotal, i've been out running and the traffic at 1pm was from the Woodingdean Crossroads back to Falmer Village - 1pm on an October weekday.

Yeah, similar. Every day's an Amex day now except that rather than a big business generating £££ being the cause of traffic, its some cycle / bus lanes
Its made my journey home from Chichester worse. More traffic is trying to use the Falmer Rd (avoiding the Lewes Rd) causing a much longer tailback on the A27.
Its really dangerous - traffic travelling at motorway speeds down the hill coming upon stationary traffic in both lanes. I reckon...
