35 bloody points.
Just 35 bloody points, I'm so
I'd resigned myself to losing by 3 figures, not 35 lousy points.
At least me and PB had the honour of fighting the battle for top spot for most of the 3 weeks.
We weren't skulking mid-table like some snidely shyster waiting to somehow...
Final general classification
1 Christopher Froome (GBr) Team Sky 89:04:48
2 Romain Bardet (Fra) AG2R La Mondiale 0:04:05
3 Nairo Quintana (Col) Movistar Team 0:04:21
4 Adam Yates (GBr) Orica-BikeExchange 0:04:42
5 Richie Porte (Aus) BMC Racing Team 0:05:17
6 Alejandro Valverde (Spa)...
I've been sweating on this all Tour.
As much as I know 8ace is a big boy and can do what he wants with his money.
The fact that I wouldn't bet that 'big' on Le Tour, on my say so, means I was somewhat concerned.
Not helped by the fact the Matthews didn't even come into the reckoning until stage...
Make the most of him, irrespective of Froome's Tour greatness Sagan is the era defining cyclist.
He's the rider we'll be watching 'old' footage of in 50 years time saying 'I actually saw him ride'.
Stage 21: Chantilly - Paris Champs-Élysées, 113 km
This day is only about one thing, and you don't need a map for that:-
Once again one of the greatest rides ever, by a rider who didn't win.
Prognostication:-
Kittel
Kristoff
Sagan
nuts nuts nuts.
I hadn't taken into consideration the points awarded for final GC.
Nuts
Made all the worse by knowing who will be sipping champers.
Nuts
:nono::angry::angry::nono::tantrum::tantrum:
Ok chaps, so I can relax in front of the cricket highlights I'm going to give you all a nice heads up for bets to avoid tomorrow.
I left £7 in my account and that has gone to:-
£3 win Brain Cockhard @ 8/1
£1 ew Matthews @ 50/1 - He's hoovered up alpine points - why
£1 ew Groenewegen @...
In a change from the norm, just because it made me laugh:-
17 Wouter Poels (Ned) Team Sky
18 Geraint Thomas (GBr) Team Sky
19 Sergio Henao (Col) Team Sky
20 Christopher Froome (GBr) Team Sky
21 Mikel Nieve (Spa) Team Sky
22 Richie Porte (Aus) BMC Racing Team
Richie really...
I think you're nearer the mark with money Ty.
The other GC riders just couldn't put the likes of Poels to bed, before they could even attack Froome.
I'm not holding that against them.
If Bardet had half an eye on the top spot of the podium he would have been alone riding against 9 men, and...
Just a quickie today.
Stage 20: Megève - Morzine, 146 km
Prognostication:-
A lesser version of yesterday, some squabbling for places but no big moves.
The remnants of the break will stay away.
I just had to check I was looking at today's on-board footage, as it's dishwatertastic.
1 Romain Bardet (Fra) AG2R La Mondiale 4:14:08
2 Joaquim Rodriguez (Spa) Team Katusha 0:00:23
3 Alejandro Valverde (Spa) Movistar Team
4 Louis Meintjes (RSA) Lampre - Merida
5 Nairo Quintana...
Just enough time to blow my own :vuvu:
'I pity the fool' that takes on 'driving' this thread next year.
Prognosticating Stat hasn't missed by much all race*.
*I know all that proves is it's been really predictable.
and I'm £40 up because of it.
Great riding today, in with a couple of nasty crashes.
Wout Poels did a fantastic job 12 months ago, and has done even better today.
One of the reasons I love watching cycling is for that kind of selfless riding.
I've had a couple of quid on Bidet, today.
As well as 3 long priced e/w'ers.
No this is Porte we're talking about, he'd have screwed up somehow.
I'm picturing him being plucked off the mountain by a eagle in stage 9.
