[Albion] Jan Paul van Hecke - contracted to June 2027

Not a great game for him. Nearly gave them a goal with a loose pass first half, and was poor in possession. Did the defensive bits well but you’d expect that as a minimum

Even Steve Sidwell put an instagram up of them watching the darts during our game saying thank god this has saved us

[Albion] Jan Paul van Hecke - contracted to June 2027

Yes but I meant ideally you’d get this done before the current deal expires - I.e at this point in time a deal hasn’t been agreed which is disappointing I guess.

[Albion] Jan Paul van Hecke - contracted to June 2027

I’m not saying it means they will be leaving or a new one won’t ever be agreed !!! Merely stating it’s sub-optimal

[Albion] Jan Paul van Hecke - contracted to June 2027

I’m literally just making the point, not making anything out of it. And Ostigard was someone who’s we extended, but then sold as a deal couldn’t be agreed to keep him any longer

[Albion] Jan Paul van Hecke - contracted to June 2027

I’m not saying he won’t. I’m just making the point it’s unfortunate when we have to exercise a extension vs a player willingly signing a new deal

[Albion] Jan Paul van Hecke - contracted to June 2027

Yes but it means he won’t sign an improved contract being offered. Ideally it would be a new contract, not us exercising an option

[Albion] Jan Paul van Hecke - contracted to June 2027

I don’t mean ever. I mean now. But it’s basically is forcing the extension, rather than the player doing so

[Albion] Jan Paul van Hecke - contracted to June 2027

I mean in terms of the player. It basically means a deal hasn’t been / can’t be agreed.

[Albion] Jan Paul van Hecke - contracted to June 2027

Agreed - exercising the option is not really a good thing
