I’m not sure exactly the plan - but it was definitely full of tables now and was pretty much still full when we left at 9. Not sure if it turns into a bar later
Went to Macmillan’s in Worthing tonight as it recently reopened. For those they don’t know - it was an old school type of steak restaurant through the 90s and 00s. I believe the owner passed away and left it to his son(s) - they’ve tried a few things in there the last few years. Clearly talented...
It’s post relaunch. Even other reviews seem pretty poor which is a shame. Burnt Orange is good but do prefer Flint House.
We have a booking next month so will keep an eye on it
Forgot to say went to Due South at lunchtime last week. Good mix of food. Only let down was the Hake in Lobster bisque which was really salty. I think they massively over seasoned it, I even had lumps of salt still crystallised in it. But the rest really good. Would go again - but slightly...
Was due to go to the new Tutto this week (same owners as Coal Shed, Salt Room, Burnt Orange) but they’ve closed temporarily. Sounds like they rushed the opening and not had a great launch service wise, and from a building / furnishing perspective !
Any suggestions for a nice mid week lunch ...
I really like it their, but they don’t advertise / promote themselves that we’ll really. Probably needs to change menu up a bit more or throw some specials in a bit more to get me in more regularly, but agreed decent place.
Been to Chalk in Washington just north of Worthing for breakfast. It’s part of the Wiston estate.
Although probably best known for their dinners we fancied breakfast before a good dog walk. Was surprised by how busy it was in and out, dogs only allowed outside.
We did expect it would be...
No but I was on a train with a couple of staff from there discussing the specific training they have for ‘how to deal with famous people’ which put me off
Finally made it to Crudo in Worthing. New ‘hip’ authentic(ish) Mexican run by the owners of Finch.
I’ve been a big fan of Salsa Viva in town since they had pop ups , stalls and their restaurant. My partner thinks it’s a bit ‘casual’ and ‘canteen’ like - and they only open in the evenings which...
Another decent lunch at the Flint House in Brighton. For a decent / treat meal it’s probably where we go the most in Sussex.
Had a bit of a rough time recently so we needed a treat;
Couple of glasses of Ridgeview Rose , carafe of Merlot, 3 Oysters with smoked crème fraiche & jalapeños, 7 small...
These reviews would be rather pointless for others if we had no idea on rough cost eh [emoji2375]
It’s a lot - but not outrageous. Plenty of places in Brighton charging £80-£100 pp for a 9 course set menu
