Tried out Kenny Tutts new venture Bayside Social. As the name suggests, slightly more casual / social experience to Pitch. I believe it is open for breakfast / lunch / dinner. Quite small. Small plate concept. Had the Prawn Tacos (v.good), Steak Burger Sliders with truffle mayo (v.good), Pan...

Haven’t you kind of proven the point? I to used to eat very regularly at Goodmans, done Keens in NY a few times, some of the trendier ones like BLT Prime when it was good - and there you’ll pay £60-£150 for a very good steak. Which is no where near the prices those jokers are charging.

Shame about Macmillan’s - I’m a big fan of their sharing steaks / roasts. They’ve always been very much ‘effortless hipster’ service vibes but no excuse for that.

Went to Kolbeh in Worthing last weekend. It’s been going under the radar for a while - Persian food in a slightly ‘glam’ setting. Their social media presence is lacking, as is much about their menu but had seen some good reviews. Usual starters of nice breads, hummus, aubergine dip type thing...

Oeuf in Hove last week. My missus had wanted to go for a long time so we did for her birthday brunch. It is pretty 'Instagrammable' - it has a NY brunch kind of vibe I'd say, pretty hipster. They specialise in their 'Frumpets' - French Toast style Crumpets. But also serve traditional breakfasts...

Ended up for an impromptu lunch at Yes Chef gaff - Boathouse In The Marina. Wasn’t planned and wasn’t really that hungry - but shared the ‘Fish Finger’ sandwich - which was huge bits of fish and nice light batter. Also the salt & pepper squid was really good, nice change from the usual offering...

Not been there for many years - especially after they tarted it up etc. I remember a birthday meal, where some young lad was working on his first night, practically shaking carrying a tray of drinks and proceeded to drop a whole pint of beer over my brother at the start of the night. The...

I was going to give Burnt Orange a go but their emails are wanky (the subjects are a bit cringey) and the above review has made me reconsider. Annoyingly had to cancel The Set this week due to self-isolating!

I used to love The Urchin and went fairly heavily when it opened up to 2-3 years ago and not been since, not really sure why. I think they were moving a bit away from that pub with food vibe to restaurant which changed it a bit, but could just be my perceptions. Agreed on the service, we had...

Not necessarily - I went to a Michelin star place in Hong Kong for Dim Sum and while the plates were small (fnar) the price was one of the cheapest meals we had during our stay !

Agree re: Trolls, he just one of those people that will flip flop one venture to another. And fair play its his business / choosing. Reminds me of the other summer there was a guy selling 'artisan toasties' in Worthing - and to be fair they were banging. But he was so erratic with 'opening...
