    [Albion] Barber's Deadline Day Disappointment

Not at all. I'm just surprised by the lack of long term planning in the striker department. Brighton has always done well to have a successor lined up in positions for when players move on for whatever reason. With a bit of overlap to 'bed' players in or whatever. Except strikers in recent years.

    [Albion] Barber's Deadline Day Disappointment

Jordon Rhodes never mentioned money when he joined Middlesborough or Massive, so that can’t have been any motivation in his choice ! Also weird that Tammy Abraham didn’t mention the fact Swansea gave him £1m and we wouldn’t in his statement when he joined? Or when Vydra went to Reading over us...

    [Albion] Barber's Deadline Day Disappointment

Genuine question... is our anti-agent stance, or the way we deal / treat them something to do with it? From memory we've always been quite strict about the way we deal with and pay agents. You'd expect between September and January agents would be out there trying to sort deals for players, but...

    [Albion] Barber's Deadline Day Disappointment

Depends really. It looks like we are looking abroad for a striker which is fair. But I'd imagine moving country at short notice, having to deal with that side of things, family, friends etc... and being expected to hit the ground running scoring goals to keep us up is quite a big ask. Which is...

    [Albion] Barber's Deadline Day Disappointment

In normal circumstances I'd agree with you, but the fact of the matter is all of our likely winnable games were between 1st January and 3rd March, so we don't have the luxury of waiting and that should take into account what we do. Maybe used the saved wages from NOT signing a striker in the...

Do you have any examples more recent than Portsmouth who were relegated in 2010?

    [Albion] Barber's Deadline Day Disappointment

Fair to say Hemed hasn't stepped up. 2 Goals and we were trying to off-load him in August if we could sign a replacement. My point is since Ulloa/Barnes left we've never really had *that* striker to see us through. The success was when we went back to old hands such as Murray & Zamora. I can't...

    [Albion] Barber's Deadline Day Disappointment

Since Ulloa we haven't really ever had 'that' striker have we? Hemed has come close but not stepped up, other than that we had to rely on old players coming back - Zamora, Murray. And a series of failed loans.

    [Albion] Barber's Deadline Day Disappointment

Burnley did that because they had a good squad and largely kept it together. Including their strikers. Murray has to go in the summer as he is to old, Hemed possibly had his head turned ? Dunk will go but possibly replaced by Goldson. The foreign players we signed this summer? Who knows but...
