While agreeing with the sentiment 100%, the Maths doesn't quite add up. He is in his 7th season of being bloody fantastic for us, but September 2017 was only SIX years ago ( and 3 months, give or take.)
But I have no doubt you'll be able to bounce the comment in December 2024.
I really think we may have to have a number of player of the season categories:
1. Best Centre Half/captain and big nose
2. Best attacking centre midfield who can also play right back
3. Best defensive midfield player, who can also play right back
4. Best attacking midfielder who can also play...
I reckon he was ready to leave in the summer until the great end to the season. I also wonder if the 4-0 v Man U was the deciding factor. I bet he's glad he stayed now!
Thank Goodness they are making all the necessary efforts to know how much he is loved.
And in fairness, most of the previous 498 comments on this thread are positive and realise he has been along with Dunk, the standout player at Brighton over the past 5 seasons. There are of course just a few...
