    I don't remember the Normans invading in 1066 in a hovercraft, they were very advanced weren't they, no wonder poor Harold never stood a chance.

    I clearly remember that picture on Hastings postcards but I think I am old enough to remember if a hovercraft went off the beach and across the channel and I don't. It wouldn't anyway all those pebbles and no terminal etc so it must have been just a one off thing.

    I was thinking that as well, love Rye and I know it's similar to the Old Town but somehow they are good in different ways, maybe it's the beach, sea and fish market, Rye is quieter and more sedate.
