I don't remember the Normans invading in 1066 in a hovercraft, they were very advanced weren't they, no wonder poor Harold never stood a chance.

I clearly remember that picture on Hastings postcards but I think I am old enough to remember if a hovercraft went off the beach and across the channel and I don't. It wouldn't anyway all those pebbles and no terminal etc so it must have been just a one off thing.

I was thinking that as well, love Rye and I know it's similar to the Old Town but somehow they are good in different ways, maybe it's the beach, sea and fish market, Rye is quieter and more sedate.

Being from T Wells I have very fond memories of Hastings. I have always liked the Old Town. As previously said the boating lake and railway as a kid. The sound of the arcades, the smells of waffles, doughnuts, rock and candy floss not to mention fish & chips. We used to go in an old pub in a...
