So...the TdF ends. No posts at all during the final stage, and I found this thread on page 2. Is everyone out on their bikes?
So, Kittel from Kristoff as expected, the two Ps talking up EVERY breakaway's chance of success, including Porte and then Clarke right near the end, neither of who could...
I'm so glad about the lack of TTs this year. They really are dull to watch, aren't they, and that was no exception.
Fewer replies in the thread this year will be entirely due to the fact that there is so little British interest. Mainstream news has also virtually ignored the race since Cav and...
I think both would have had a chance. Porte as support for Froome is not as hopeless as Porte as team leader, And G has been excellent. I think the spirit left Sky when Froome was forced to pull out. Lopez has been crap, yes, and Kirienka has been a bit headless chicken, but with Froome in place...
Yes, a worthy champion.
Trouble is, Froome and Contador did not stay in the race, and we will never know how strong they would have been. His win isn't quite 'tainted' by this, but it's always going to be a question that cannot be answered. A bit like winning Wimbledon would be if Djokovic...
Another brilliant stage. Nibali is just incredible, but the young French riders were also fantastic. Pinot, Peraud and Bardet all in the top five, Valverde off the podium.
Just over four hours. Utterly ridiculous. My official time in l'etape was 8hours and 19 minutes.
:lol::smile::annoyed:
Loads of my mates are asking me what the problem was, as there were only two hills!
I used the big ring for the Tourmalet. However, it wasn't the big ring at the front.
I am also right behind Nibs. I thought he was incredible over the cobbles, and would love to see him prevail.
They are not so sure in my LBS. "Not normal," is how they described his performance on Wednesday. Apparently, he also didn't look pained enough.
And he's Italian.
Please don't let it...
You sound annoyed with them, and I share this feeling. If you have access to Eurosport, turn over now! So much better for commentary, although ITV have the better team when they are not actually racing.
So, when the stage finishes, I will turn to ITV.
Yep. They've been like that for thirty years. It is incredibly irritating, especially in the stages where is is bleeding obvious that the break has no chance at all of staying away.
I think this breakaway has little chance of staying away.
Sean and Carlton are not so sure. It's "who do you think will win if the break stays away?" They are saying Kadri.
Not like P and P to talk up a breakaway's chances.
Now Sylvain goes for it. Keep the faith, young Simon!
