    Baseball Season 2014

Game 1 Giants on fire 4-0 up top of 4, bases loaded and Shields knocked out of game. Now they walk in a run, oh boy KC!

    1. It's incredible how Kershaw imploded in the 7th innings TWICE vs. Cardinals. 2. I said at the start of the season how incredible it was you could get 33-1 on the Giants. They're now 11/14 and will push the Cardinals hard. 3. I fancy the team with the momentum is the Orioles. KC have done...

    Baseball Season 2014

The A's are one of the most amazing sides in all of sport in terms of over-achieving based on player salary. Their payroll is $83m and yet they're comfortably ahead of Texas ($136m) and 3 games up on the Angels ($156m), and all this despite losing two decent pitchers pre-season to long-term...

    Baseball Season 2014

We're almost one-third into the season and things are broadly going to plan, but pre-season dark horses Toronto Blue Jays and Milwaukee Brewers are showing well. Do they have the depth to outlast the Yankees and the Cardinals? I'm well happy with my Oakland A's, another bottom of the 9th...

Did anyone see Don Baylor break his leg catching the ceremonial first pitch of the Angels season, and on his first day in his new job as their hitting coach? Incredible. An inauspicious start for The Angels.

Yadier Molina just jacked one out of the park. 1-0 Cards vs Reds top of 7.

    Baseball Season 2014

I see Brian Wilson spectacularly blew the save, then lost the match for the Dodgers last night.

Enjoying the early innings of the Dodgers Padres Opening Night match in San Diego. Padres have left 5 baserunners in the first 2 innings. Ouch!

Looks like you're right. It looked like he'd be allowed to play while appealing against the ban but seems to have accepted it now. But if you've got a batting line-up of McCann, Teixeira, Jeter, Kelly Johnson, Beltran, Soriano, Suzuki and Ellsbury then runs shouldn't be a problem.

    Baseball Season 2014

I believe the Jeter Factor could focus the Yankees this season, and provides A-Rod with a chance for partial rehabilitation of his reputation. They're in the toughest division but have got so much experience and quality.

    Baseball Season 2014

My picks: Yankees, Tigers, Athletics, Nationals, Cardinals, Dodgers. Wild cards Red Sox and Giants. World Series: Yankees vs. Dodgers. Dodgers to win 4-3. Best pitching rotation = Giants. They will push LA hard and at 33-1 for the World Series they look like a decent bet.
