So, if we were to get Nick Powell, as per the other thread:
Based upon this article: http://the4thofficial.net/2018/03/brighton-hove-albion-plotting-move-23-yo-league-one-midfielder-good-fit-hughton/
That would fill one of the slots beautifully.
1. Ryan Non HGP 1
2. Krul
3. NEW KEEPER...
I see the main restriction on flexibility revolves around our midfield. We only have Gross, Propper, Stephens and Kayal, which means anything unusual is not possible. We've played 5 at the back before, so we have the flex there, and we have options up front.
IF you read back through the conversation you'll see that i agree with you... although the sentence at the end makes it sound like I don't think it's possible.
My original thrust was to release / sell / loan 8 players to make space for improvements.. as we bring in upgrades in each...
So 18 year olds or lower.
Perhaps? http://sportwitness.co.uk/brighton-see-off-european-giants-sign-18-year-old-defender-surprising-choice/

I think you're probably right, particularly if you bear in mind that we can't discount the risk of relegation - we can't have a team consisting purely of players that will jump ship the moment they can't play in the Premier League.
As Mellotron has said, this is pretty close to how is expect to see it going. Midfield requires an extra body as we've been fortunate with injuries there this season.
I wonder if there's a coaching role or similar for Bruno and Rosenior for next season? Would be great to keep them involved...
The way I see it is IF we can upgrade any position in the starting 11 then that in turn strengthens the bench. I wonder how much it would cost to replace Knockaert and whether he'd accept being semi permanently on the bench.
Exactly - this came up in the discussions about who might be at risk of poaching, but we need to make improvements in the squad IF We stay up, and that's the tricky bit. Do we make the drastic changes I suggested (7 new players) but risk unity, and also restrict our options due to the Non-HGP...
On the MASSIVE assumption* that we stay up, how would you change the current 25 man squad?
* if we go down then there will be much more change. Also assuming we don't lose any players we'd rather keep.
It currently looks like this:
25 Squad players
1. Baldock, Samuel*
2. Bong, Thomas...
