****ing shambles, they are a complete disgrace this lot. The neutral commentators letting us know what we did already. No application, no heart. Time for a proper clear out of the batting line up and coaching staff.
Chris Jordan to open. Ed Joyce "We are going to go for it" :nono:
Sweep stake on the Sussex score anyone? I will go 147 after some resistance from Hatchett and Magoffin once the game has basically gone.
Yes, I believe so. It was more a hope than an expectation. There is quite a jump in winnings between third and second as well, if I recall correctly.
Just checked this:
2nd place £169,000
3rd place £88,000
That is a pretty big jump.
Great post. Try and make a list of batsman Sussex have signed to play in the Championship in the last three years.
RHB (who was clearly shot to pieces)
Cachopa (just a punt on a Portuguese passport)
Are there any more? Right now I cannot think of any.
100% no. Sussex did not win a game in June, July, or August. That is pretty damning in a summer sport. The batting woes are identical to last season and nothing was done. We will lose another batsman this year, will Robinson actually sign someone? Or will he hope to muddle through again?
Pretty unlikely on this pitch in these conditions, with 7 sessions remaining. Two scores of 250. They rarely go up as the match goes on. Maybe some prolonged rain tomorrow would make that a possibility.
Commentators losing the plot a little here. An extra batting point here makes no difference to Sussex. Getting closer to Yorkshire is the most important thing, to have it in our hands we will have to win now, as a draw would require a lot of rain.
