Probably, in reality very few of us really know what he's like. I would be interested to see how he would get on in the hustle and bustle of the championship. The pace and cometitiveness seemed to come as a complete surprise to Holla.
I really don't care if he signs or not and actually would...
On fire Icy Gull, agree with everything you've put on this thread.
@Hans Kray - I'm not sure the Dutch Div 2 is better than league 1, though that was interesting point re player of the year.
Just an opinion.
See above apparently in English and yes there are phrases in many languages that are similar. 'Turn down/reject', are emotive and lot different to I'm not ready to make a decision or even no comment. We'll have to disagree on this.
Only he was never quoted as 'turning us down', so it is different.
Fickle wise, of course, but then if the Iranian signs, I'm not one to heckle my own team.
Any player who pulls on our shirt gets my support.
Perhaps, but turning down is similar in most languages, I would suggest.
There are better ways of playing for time and the agent appears to have been a bit naive.
Different IMO, Calderon at no point turned us down, he just left his options open.
Whilst the Iranian may effectively be doing the same thing, his agents quote of 'turning Brighton down', is unhelpful and perhaps a better use of words would have been better.
Exactly how I feel. I think we're pretty naïve if in 4 weeks time, he states that he has 'fulfilled a dream by signing for Brighton, and looks forward to helping them to the premier league'.
He has made his decision, if he has any balls he'll stick to it - good luck to him with in getting a...
To be fair, that's what the evidence points to. I guess the big test is Dunk to another championship club........ Though if Fulham bid over £2m I'd be tempted.
Looks promising, but a big difference between Dutch div 2 and the championship, Holla struggled last season with the pace.
Just the mere fact that we might have put a bid in for someone, gets the juices flowing again.
