It’s more or less incredible that, in this day and age, someone would come onto a Brighton message board to justify the booing of a black player - for reporting what he believed to be racist abuse. If people believe that Burnley is a hotbed of UKIP and Bnp undesirables, I’m not entirely sure...

There’s no point in criticising Motson as any further comments he made could have failed to make the final edit. But given that he did draw attention to it, it was poor that Lineker and company failed to mention it.
