Corbyn was not someone often reported on accurately, so the false positions attributed to him on this thread are understandable. They should be retracted though.

I still disagree In the thread title, you've named Moseley. Never in power. Indisputably a fascist. Being in power is not a pre-requisite.

The way I see Anderson, Braverman, Tice, Farage and Reform UK. Unpleasant? Very Incompetent Certainly Racist? I think there is strong evidence Fascist? In my understanding, this is where racial hatred is backed up with organised intimidation and violence. So no I don’t agree this is the case...

Just don't agree. Belief in the death penalty and a strong anti-immigration stance aren't enough in themselves to be using these sort of words Silly comment. We can debate this without smearing each other I accept your earlier point about the need for vigilance and the risk of sliding into a...

Again, plenty of countries do this which aren't fascist countries. Some might even do it expressly to fight fascism. To be totally clear, I'm not in any way supportive of Lee Anderson or right wing politics. I just think that the use of the word fascism is hyperbolic in this context

Agree with this. What we don't have is the organised militarilsm which is normally associated with fascism. I don't think the occasional Braverman inspired drunken meathead, football thug, statue protection mob currently count. But I'd accept the point this is a situation to be keeping an eye...

Yes, that sounds like a pretty good description of my understanding of fascism. As much as I despise the pungent opportunism of Anderson, Tice and Farage, I just don't believe they fit this description.

I get it's fun to call these types of people fascists, in a Rick from Young Ones sort of a way, but how do you respond then to actual fascism when it arrives. Your words have lost their meaning

While i'm not a fan of Reform UK, fascist is a strong word with a specific meaning. I've not seen evidence they have tipped over into fascism

OK. Surely the interesting question here is .... will others follow? Could this be the domino which leads to further defections and threats to depose Sunak. Could Sunak press the GE button in response? I'm watching this space

What's he doing? Is he actually joining a party with fascist in the name?
